Production process of recycled polyester

Leave a message

There are generally two methods for manufacturing recycled fibers, one is called physical recovery production method, and the other is called chemical recovery production method.

The physical recycling production method refers to the reprocessing process of waste polyester. Recycled materials such as bottle materials and polyester waste silk are pulverized, melted, purified or modified to pelletize to produce short fibers. The mechanical properties of the products are poor, and some are difficult to achieve. Textile standards are generally used for fillers or industrial purposes, but this method is relatively simple to produce and low in cost.

The chemical recovery production method refers to the use of the reversibility of the condensation ester process of the polyester polycondensate. The recycled polyester is chemically depolymerized to form smaller molecules, intermediates or directly converted into monomers, and then polycondensed into high-quality products. Fiber-grade polyester chips are used for spinning. This method has high process requirements and is mostly used for high-value polymer materials. It uses the raw material value of waste textiles and can achieve complete recycling. The main method is methanol dissolution. , Glycol alcoholysis, hydrolysis and supercritical depolymerization. Although the chemical method is completely recycled and of high quality, it can replace virgin polyester in an all-round way, but due to its short-term economic benefits, raw material supply and processing technology limitations, the development speed of the chemical method is still relatively slow. All recycled PET bottle flakes are recycled through physical methods.
