How to maintain clothes, wear and wash or wash less?

Leave a message

Clothes are divided into seasons. In summer, they must be worn and washed once. In winter, washing clothes too much is not good for clothes. It is recommended to wash them every two or three days or three or four days.
The maintenance of clothes is to be sorted and maintained
(1) Cotton and linen clothing:
When storing, clothes must be washed, dried, and folded flat. Wardrobe, cabinets, and polyethylene packaging bags must be kept clean and dry to prevent mildew. It is best to store white clothing and dark clothing separately to prevent staining or yellowing.
(2) Silk clothing:
When storing, in order to prevent moisture and dust, a layer of cotton cloth should be covered on the clothing surface or silk clothing should be wrapped. White clothes cannot be placed in camphor boxes, nor can moth balls be placed, otherwise they will turn yellow easily.
(3) woolen clothing:
After wearing all kinds of woolen clothes for a period of time, they should be dried and patted to remove dust. Store in a dry place when not wearing. It should be hung and stored, and the fabric should be turned inside out to prevent fading, weathering and wind marks. Before storage, it should be brushed or washed, ironed, dried, and ventilated for a day. For high-grade woolen clothing, it is best to hang them in the closet and not to be stacked, so as not to deform and affect the appearance. When storing all-wool or blended clothing, wrap the mothballs in tissue paper and put them in the pocket of the clothes or in the closet or box. Plush clothing should be stored separately from other clothing, so as not to shed fluff and stain other clothing.
(4) Chemical fiber clothing:
Man-made fiber clothing should be laid flat, and should not be hung for a long time, so as not to be stretched due to hanging. When storing blended fabric clothing containing natural fibers, you can put a small amount of mothballs or insect repellents, but do not touch them; for clothing made of synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon, you do not need to put mothballs, let alone sanitary balls, to avoid contamination. Naphthol can cause damage to clothing and fabrics.

Maintenance tips for several special fabrics:
1. Maintenance of cotton and linen clothing Cotton and linen are composed of cellulose macromolecules and have good hygroscopicity. During storage, it is mainly to prevent mildew and rot, that is, to prevent the reproduction of mold microorganisms. The main method is to keep the fabric clean and dry, especially in the rainy summer season to check and dry.
2. Care should be taken when ironing woolen garments:
(1) The temperature of the iron can be appropriately higher, and the dirty parts of the woolen clothes can be ironed several times, but do not directly touch the woolen material, so as not to shine;
(2) Towels should be constantly rinsed in water, and the warm water in the basin should also be constantly updated; (3) After “dry cleaning” woolen clothes, they can be hung on hangers, and the water should be fully dried before wearing. Woolen clothes are prone to moisture and mildew. Because wool contains oil and protein, it is also easily eaten by insects and rats.
The following points should be paid attention to during storage:
(1) It is best not to fold it, but to hang it on a hanger and store it in a cabinet to avoid wrinkles when wearing it.
(2) The cabinets for storing clothing should be kept clean and dry, the temperature should be kept below 25°C, and the relative humidity should be below 60%. At the same time, mothballs should be put in to avoid damp mold or insects. Store clothing in shades from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
(3) Take it out to dry frequently (do not expose to the sun), beat the dust and remove moisture. After drying, wait for it to cool completely before putting it in the cabinet.
(4) When the worn clothing needs to be stored due to changing seasons, it should be washed to avoid mold or insects caused by sweat stains and dust.
3. The maintenance of silk clothing The basis for good silk clothing is to wear it carefully. The strength of silk is higher, and the outer surface of silk is protected by sericin, so it has better wear resistance. However, because the silk fiber is too fine, flaws should be avoided. Any contact with rough and burr materials will often cause silk to "jump" and cause damage.

In addition, do not wear silk clothing to sleep on mats, rattan chairs, wooden boards and other rough objects, so as not to cause unnecessary damage or silk. Alkali is more destructive to silk, so you must avoid contact with alkali-containing substances when wearing silk summer clothes. At the same time, silk is also greatly affected by salt. Salt in human sweat can make light-colored silk summer clothes turn yellow and red spots, so when wearing silk summer clothes, you should pay attention to frequent washing to keep its surface clean.

It is best to use neutral soap flakes or high-grade detergents for washing silk summer clothes. Hot water can be used to dissolve the soap liquid first, and then soak the silk summer dress after letting it cool. Knead it with your hands (be careful not to rub it with a washboard, and avoid twisting). After washing, throw the soap liquid, otherwise it is easy to bloom. To wash dark silk summer clothes, you can only rinse them repeatedly in clean water, and do not use soap flakes or other detergents to avoid soap stains and whitening. When washing brightly colored silk summer clothes, in order to avoid fading, you can put a little salt. Because silk is easily brittle under the action of ultraviolet rays in the sun, and the color fastness of silk is poor, it should not be exposed to the sun after washing, but should be hung in a ventilated place to dry in the shade. When the silk summer clothes are 80% dry, cover the clothes with a white cloth and iron them with an iron. The temperature should not be higher than 130°C, otherwise the silk will be damaged. Do not spray water when ironing to avoid water stains.

Silk is a protein fiber with strong hygroscopicity. When the environment is relatively humid, some molds and bacteria are easy to grow and reproduce on the fabric. When storing, the clothes should be washed first, and it is best to iron them once, which can play the role of sterilization and insecticide. Wardrobe boxes should be kept clean and dry. Silk clothes are thin, soft, and not easy to be pressed, so they can be placed on top of the pile of clothes. Light-colored silk clothes are best stored in fine white cloth to prevent wind stains and yellow stains. Hygienic balls should not be placed in silk clothing, otherwise the white will turn yellow. Tussah silk should not be put together with mulberry silk, because the former will discolor the latter.

4. Maintenance of chemical fiber clothing Viscose fiber clothing has poor abrasion resistance and is easy to fluff and deform, so you should rub less and twist less when wearing or washing. Do not hang for a long time, so as not to elongate and deform. When collecting, it should be washed and dried to avoid high humidity and high temperature environment. Except for acrylic fiber and vinylon, synthetic fiber clothing should not be exposed to the sun for a long time, otherwise it will be easy to age, harden and brittle, and its strength will decrease. When storing, it should be washed and dried, and no sanitary balls or camphor tablets should be placed. If there is wool in the blended fabric, put a small amount of camphor and wrap it in paper. Do not let the camphor come into direct contact with the clothing.
For commonly used acrylic and vinylon clothing, the following methods should be mastered:
(1) Acrylic clothing. When washing, dissolve the soap or washing powder in warm water, soak the clothes, and rub gently. Thick fabrics can be lightly brushed with a soft brush, rinsed with clean water, gently twisted to remove moisture, and dried in the shade in a ventilated place, do not expose to sunlight. When ironing, a piece of damp cloth should be lined on the clothes, and the temperature should be controlled below 150°C (if the temperature is too high, it will cause discoloration). Because this kind of fabric is not afraid of moths, mothballs do not need to be placed in the collection, but it should be kept clean and dry to avoid some mold spots on the viscose fiber.
(2) Vinylon clothing. The washing method is the same as that of cotton fabrics, but do not use too alkaline soap and too hot water, and do not use excessive force to avoid fiber shrinkage, hardening and pilling. Ironing must be carried out when the fabric is dry, and do not spray water (ironing is easy to make it shrink when it is wet), and a flat cloth should be placed on it, and the temperature should not exceed 110°C. Vinylon fabric should not be baked at high temperature, otherwise it will easily make the fabric hard, browned, or even brittle. This kind of textile is not afraid of moths and mildew, so just wash the fabric before storage and keep it clean and dry.

5. Maintenance of down clothing Washing down clothing should avoid alkaline substances, avoid stirring with a washing machine or rubbing with hands, avoid wringing, and avoid baking with an open flame. When wearing down clothing, it is necessary to prevent holes caused by hooking and friction, and it should not be in contact with strong acids and alkalis. When storing, wash and dry to avoid heavy pressure. Specifically, it is to do the following:
(1) Moisture-proof and frequent sun exposure. In winter, down products should be dried in the sun every 3 to 5 days. When drying, you can gently pat them with a wooden stick to remove moisture and increase softness, and prolong the service life.
(2) Beware of mishaps. The fabrics of down products are generally very afraid of being scratched by sharp tools such as nails and knives, because this will cause the down in them to scatter, which will not only hinder washing, but also make down products scrapped, so you should be extra careful when wearing them. In addition, it is also necessary to prevent cigarette butts and open flames from burning it out.
(3) Collect carefully. Before storage, the down jacket must be washed and dried to prevent mold and insects. The metal buckles and zippers of down products should be coated with a thin layer of wax to avoid rust. When storing, it can be put into a large-capacity plastic bag and then put into the box, and mothballs should not be placed in the box.
